Our installation process

1. Pre installation checks

We start by confirming measurements, cabinet clearances, and the recommended mounting height for your hob type. For ducted systems we check the proposed route, bends, and exit point to reduce resistance and improve extraction. We also verify the power connection method and whether an isolator is required for safe operation.

2. Secure mounting and alignment

Hoods must be installed level and firmly fixed to suitable surfaces. We use appropriate fixings for plasterboard, masonry, or cabinetry and take care to avoid hidden services. For island units, we ensure the bracket system is anchored correctly and that the hood sits straight, as even small alignment issues can be very noticeable.

3. Ducting, venting, and airflow

For ducted hoods we connect ducting with sealed joints to reduce leaks and rattles. We aim for the shortest practical route with minimal bends, since this typically improves extraction and keeps noise down. Where recirculation is the only option, we fit the correct filters and confirm the air return path is not obstructed by cabinets or trims.

4. Electrical connection and functional testing

Once the hood is mounted and connected, we test fan speeds, lighting, and controls. We also check for vibration, unusual noise, and adequate airflow. If the job requires additional power work, we can include it within our appliance connection services so the hood is powered correctly and ready to use.
