What information should I provide before a start tap installation visit?
Share the sphere vessel type if known, pipe size, location, and whether the system is pressurised during normal operation. If you have photos of the existing connection and any leaks, that also helps us bring the right parts.
Can you replace a leaking start tap without changing the whole sphere vessel?
In many cases yes, the tap can be replaced independently if the connection is sound and compatible. We will inspect the threads, seating, and alignment first to ensure the new tap will seal properly and not fail again.
Do you pressure test after installing the start tap?
Yes, we test for leaks and confirm smooth operation under expected conditions. If we detect pressure instability, we will advise on corrective steps such as resizing the fitting or addressing strain in the pipework.
